Releases are co-ordinated on the ekiga-devel-list mailing list on gnome.org.

Good commmunication should ensure that we meet the expectations of the open source community.

Summary of release process

See also Pre-release test

The Ekiga release manager uploads a tested tarball of the release sources to master.gnome.org. This means that the release is available to downstream Gnome packagers and distributors. The detailed process is on http://live.gnome.org/MaintainersCorner/Releasing. Other interesting pages: http://live.gnome.org/TwoPointTwentyseven (gnome schedule) and http://live.gnome.org/MaintainersCorner.

The release manager must upload matching dependencies for OPAL and PTLIB in time for the release.

Ancillary tasks

The Ekiga Release Manager should make a repository of contributed binary packages, such as RPMs and DEBs, available to the webmaster of ekiga.org.

Who is the release manager?

The release managers are currently Damien Sandras and Eugen Dedu. Release managers can be contacted by mailing the ekiga-devel-list at gnome.org
