This article describes how someone got Cisco ATA 188 to work with Ekiga.net, but some steps described here might not be mandatory.
1, reset the unit.
- Pick up handset
- Press red button
- Hear "configuration menu, enter menu number..."
- Type: 322873738#
- Hear "to save press star, or press the pound key"
- Press "*"
- The red light will flash, device is now reset to defaults (you may get a short ring)
2, locate the units IP address.
- Pick up handset
- Press red button
- Hear "configuration menu..."
- Type 80#
- Write down the IP address that is read back to you
3, change settings
Connect to http://your_units_ip/dev with a web-browser to enter the configuration menu Change settings as described below.

You can configure the ATA to use dual accounts by entering the second account login/password in UID1/PWD1, that will enable the second phone port on the unit itself.
NTPIP is network time server, you can use the server of your choice, but its important not to leave it blank.
Other unit service-pages are /stats, /refresh. You cannot connect to http://your_units_ip/, you must specify what page to enter.
